Important Things About Fever
Fever is not always an enemy. In fact, it’s the body’s mechanism to fight infection. When temperature rises, viruses and bacteria are less comfortable. But when fever exceeds 39 degrees, the body suffers too much and intervention is needed.
Normal body temperature is around 37 degrees Celsius. Low fever is between 37 and 38 degrees. Moderate fever is between 38 and 39 degrees. High fever is above 39 degrees. If temperature is above 40 degrees, this is an emergency situation.

Variations Depending on Type of Infection
Fever caused by viruses (cold, flu) responds well to traditional remedies. Fever caused by bacteria (sinusitis, tonsillitis) may require antibiotics if not improving in 3-4 days. Fever caused by parasites is more persistent and requires precise diagnosis.
An important sign is that fever caused by flu often comes with intense muscle pain, while simple cold fever is milder. If head hurts a lot, throat hurts when swallowing, or you have a cough, these are signs that infection is active and remedies need to be adapted.
Older people and small children get fever more easily and need to be monitored more carefully. Babies under 3 months with fever need to go to the doctor immediately, as fever can be a sign of serious infection.
